Kylie Head

Executive Coach, Mediator, Consumer Health Leader

Kylie Head is a mediation services specialist, executive coach, and consumer health advocate with over twenty years in senior management. Her career spans biotechnology, diagnostics, medical laboratory sciences, pharmaceuticals (animal and human health), surgical and audiology sectors, giving her a rare multifaceted perspective. Kylie commenced her mediation practice in 2007 as an extension of her leadership roles, with a focus on commercial, contractual, and employment disputes. She is highly experienced in negotiating complex agreements and facilitating positive outcomes for organisations and individuals.

Alongside dispute resolution and commercial coaching, Kylie works extensively with executive leaders to build constructive communication and bring out the best in teams. She supports clients through change, transition, and problem-solving, and is respected for her capacity to empathise, challenge, and drive rapid professional growth. Kylie has coached senior leaders in both the public and private sectors, enabling accelerated performance, confident leadership, and practical behaviour change.

Kylie is also a recognised leader in consumer health governance. She serves on the National Stroke Network, Northern Regional Stroke Network, co-chairs Stroke Aotearoa’s LEAP consumer team, and advises on research, service design and evaluation for integrated care. Other current governance includes the WOVEN Consumer Advisory Team at Health Navigator NZ and the Expert Advisory Group for Minor Ailments and Pharmacy Services. Her roles consistently focus on system-level design, health equity, and whānau voice.

Kylie is an Assistant Research Fellow at the University of Otago, leading research into the return-to-work experience of stroke survivors and their whānau. Her lived experience informs her approach and advocacy for health services that are culturally responsive, empowering, and coordinated across hospital and community.
